Train Harder

As an advocate of outdoor exercise, I am often asked exactly where I train my clients. This blog is the first of an occasional series, reviewing trim trails and outdoor gyms around London, where you may find me training clients or myself.

Personal Trainer Primrose Hill Park, Trim Trail

Overview

The trim trail at Primrose Hill park is one of my favourite fitness destinations. It’s located within the park itself at the foot of the hill, beside Albert Road. Like all trim trails, the principle aim is to get yourself over, under and through a series of static obstacles. Rather than picking up a weight in a mainstream gym, your bodyweight supplies the resistance that will tone and strengthen your entire body.

Stations

The 16 different stations in Primrose Hill park, make it one of the most varied and best equipped outdoor gyms I use. There are low and high pull up bars, monkey bars, incline benches and balance beams. You can perform hundreds of exercises.

Flooring

The ground is well turfed and soft enough for floor work without bringing a mat, unless it has been raining and then it gets a little muddy.

Privacy

The space is screened from the public gaze by hedges which give you enough privacy to try out new exercises without fear of falling on your arse in front of an audience.

Public Facilities

Next door are male and female toilets and drinking fountains (at least, that’s what’s in the men’s).

Advantages

The major advantage of this site is the proximity of Primrose Hill itself. This challenging incline adds intensity for even my fittest personal training clients. During rest periods, we can admire the brilliant view of the city from the top of the hill or watch the great and the good of North London.

Summary

Being coached by a personal trainer on the trim trail in Primrose Hill park, makes for a tough and challenging workout.  The location is a perfect counterbalance to boot camp training, as it encourages an emphasis on individual attention and guidance.

What is your rate for a 1hr session in Regents Park & Belgravia for another friend of mine?

  2. Hi Antonio,

Our rate is equivalent to £62.50 per session, but we offer monthly personal training plans, rather than single sessions. Our pay-as-you-go plans are designed to spread the cost of training and fit your budget.

If you’d like to give our office a call on 020 7491 1235, then we can talk through any questions you’ve got – and book your initial session in our training schedule.
